I just got to know these 2 guys from the navy and they are onboard the USS John C. Stennis. Heard lots of stuff from them which include the many types of jets on their carrier and their stories from being in the persian gulf and what their job was, to make sure the pilots are safe when they land and stuff. I heard when they were in the persian gulf, they had to fly over Iraq and give some support to the troops or something. They are now taking a rest in Singapore and heading over the Hong Kong, and then back home. Uhh, so is the navy that exciting? I mean u get to travel and stuff.
lol

Somehow the way he talked made BF2 came alive lol.
"now taking a rest in Singapore and heading over the Hong Kong, and then back home."
That pretty much explains it.

You know I always thought the Marines were like a subdivision of the Navy until recently. The name etc.. I thought it was like "The Navies Land Force" which made me feel Puzzled.

everytime I talk shit to my USMC buddies I always say, USMC- Department of the Navy. then they say "The men's department"
Oh yeah, how fast is carrier btw? He said hes gonna take 5 days to reach Hong Kong.
Im sure a plane will get there faster. ATA airlines!
And they did mention one more thing, the F-18 hornet is more important than a pilot's life lol.
A carrier is a floating airport. I don't think much needs to be said. Especially since a US Nimitz super carrier is the sea equivalent of Heathrow airport.Ayumiz wrote:

Only you could travel too fast for a skiier in said airport.Mekstizzle wrote:

thats just fucked up. In my branch of service, the life of the individual far outweighs in importance than the value of the equipment he uses. except maybe your weapon and ammo. but those are just extensions of your body.Ayumiz wrote:

Navy life is VERY tedious.
How often can you scrape & paint the same areas ?
Answer: More than you could imagine.

Then again I would imagine Jets cost a lot more than what equipment the army uses.GunSlinger OIF II wrote:

Yeah but still...there is a reason they make UAV's.jord wrote:

UAV's aren't at a Jet level.Mekstizzle wrote:

That would make an interesting thread, the price of human life and where people think it lies.
I'm not in the navy but I will be swearing in for the Army on the 30th if all goes according to plan. God I can't wait to leave my home town for a while.

A few of my friends are in the navy as jet mechanics and they travel almost everywhere in the world. They say most of the time it's pretty boring though. But they do like it more than civilian life.Ayumiz wrote:
