somehow i don't think this guy has a 240pin ram mobo or a pci-e video card.  sir, is your gpu agp?  and if your gonna stick with your current cpu/mobo, 184-pin ram is dirt cheap now, check out newegg definately or even ebay for good deals.

If your seriosuly lost with ram, go to www.crucial.com and run the free scanner, it'll be able to tell you what you have and what you can upgrade to.

Hi there,

if you could take a screenshot of your system specifications which can be found by doing this:

Start > Run > "dxdiag" > Screenshot

I'll be able to help you a bit more if I know your exact specs. Also, what sort of budget are you on?

dude what ever.  it's simple, he needs to know what kind of ram and video card he currently has.  Does he have an AGP GPU and 184 pin ram?  Do what leetkyle wrote and get back to us.  without knowing what your mobo support we cannot help at this time.   the pic below shows an AGP type video card connection on  top and a PCI-E connection on the botttom, notice the difference?  Pull your card out and look at it.   pull your ram out too and it will probably say on them as well.  don't worry your computer won't blow up just by you looking in there.
