I'm fairly sure I'm going to get a Asus P5k Deluxe for my new build, however will the P35 chipset be compatible with the Penryn/Yorkfield chips, when they finally come out? I'm not planning on buying a new CPU any time soon once I have this one, but it'd be nice if when I do after spending this much money on a mobo it'll work together without having to replace that too. Although what with DDR3 I suppose it's somewhat inevitable... *sigh*
Yes they will. 45nm CPU's are compatible with the P35, G38 and X38.
And you can get MOBO's that have both DDR2 and DDR3 support.
