here is what its made of (keep in mind that the mobo, cooler, one of the sticks of ram, PSU, and processor are stuff that my friend had and didnt need so he gave them to me, and the case, HDD and graphics card are stuff that i had already.)

CPU: Intel Pentium 4 670
MOBO: ASUS P5ND2-SLI nForce 4
GPU: Biostar 6800GS 512MB
RAM: 2 x 1GB DDR2 667 (the stick that my friend gave me was 533, so i bought a 1GB Kingston stick at 667, and oc'd the first one to 667)
HDD: Western Digital Caviar SATA 160GB
PSU: Apevia 550W
COOLER: Sanyo Denki San Ace Liquid Cooler
CASE: old e-Star case
OPTICAL: ASUS SATA DVD-ROM
OS: Microsoft Windows XP Media Center Edition
KEYBOARD: Saitek Eclipse II
MOUSE: Logitech MX518
SOUND: nForce 4 integrated Realtek/Turtle Beach X-52 5.1 Surround Sound Headset
DISPLAY: Samsung 20" LCD

it works great. runs BF2 without a hitch, and without the annoying crackling sound through the speakers that my mom's Dell always gave me.

not the fastest computer in this forum but what only matters if your happy with it.  its a shame some people aren't able to play this game fully maxed even though it's been out for over 2 years.  maxing this game out with fast load times makes it a completly different game huh?

its not that hard to max out BF2. as ive said before, i can max it out on my mom's dell, and it has an X1300PRO 256MB. needless to say, thats a terrible card for gaming, and my 6800GS can run circles around it.

but it DOES look a lot prettier on my computer than on my moms dell

im trying to get a job soon so that i can save up some money for a new build to put vista on, which will probably consist of a quad core. but until then this comp will do me perfectly fine.

True, but keep in mind that this game is really heavy for computers. Loading up 64 players + vehicles + enviroment on high settings. that demands alot of processing power. So I am not really that suprised that most people can't play this game maxed out.
