I'd say the best player is someone who's well-rounded, has all the awards without padding, has a decent KDR and SPM, has loads of team points and lots of wins, and a very small Lone Wolf Time. This player can work well with a team and achieve victories, instead of just whoring up Karkand IO servers and spamming grenades.
There isn't a "best" player. Chances are you won't find them on public/ranked servers anyway.

There is some insanely good players in CAL this year, namely for teams like [RoM], [STO], nL, 20id etc.... dang good players there.
Oh I should also add that the best player I described earlier has the original WCR.
Oh, and has nearly the same amount of time played on every single map and about even time between USMC/MEC/PLA, and SAS/SPETZ/Insurgents/Rebels/SEALS/MECSF.
