I'm currently trying to burn some audio CD's. They are .mp3 files, and I'm using Nero express to write onto CD-R's. But halfway through the burn process I get an error window (Burn process failed at 32x(4,800KB/s)). I have only successfully burned one audio CD (the rest of my attempts have failed as explained), I never had trouble with this when burning data CD's.

Could anyone help me or offer me some advice.

It may be Nero causing the problem. Try using the Windows CD burning utility to test that theory. Go to My Computer, open up d: (or whatever it is) drag your mp3's in there and click the link to burn on the left.

Cheers for the obvious yet, successful advise KCD.

Conclusion: Nero Fails, no wonder they gave it me free when buying the PC

If burning doesn't work through Nero or through Windows - are you sure that your CD-RW is:

- a CD-RW;
- working?

If you can, find out the model number of your CD Drive.

Funny, it's the other way around for me. Windows fails at burning CD's but my Nero is great for CD's, DVD's, etc...

Nero sucks balls.

Your only hope is to unplug the CD burner from the mobo. Reboot. Uninstall Nero. Shut down. Plug in the CD burner, then reinstall NERO. NERO should then test the drive for it's buffers/read/write speeds, etc.

Or try telling NERO to chill the fuck out with the 32x, maybe go down a notch to 28x?
