Taleban leader calls for more foreigners to be kidnapped

KABUL - A DAY after the killing of a South Korean hostage in Afghanistan, the Taleban's military chief has called for more foreigners to be kidnapped, describing it as a very successful policy.

Mansour Dadullah, who took over as commander after his brother, the former head, was killed by coalition troops in May, also said the militants planned to use children to behead hostages to toughen their stomachs for battle.

Dadullah, speaking to Britain's Channel4 News from an undisclosed location on the Afghanistan-Pakistan border, said he advocated kidnapping foreigners to trade them for Taleban captives.

Dadullah himself was released from prison by Afghanistan in exchange for a kidnapped Italian journalist earlier this year.

He added that the Taleban wanted to 'give children a military education, we want to train them against cruel invaders and infidels, so when we need them, they will join this struggle'.

'We want to use children to behead infidels and spies so that they will become brave.'

Dadullah also claimed that a 'spectacular' outrage would take place in Britain, in the wake of three failed car bombings in London and Glasgow about a month ago.

He said he was in close contact with Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden, and added that between the Taleban and Al-Qaeda, 'we don't keep count of weapons, money or anything'.

I think perhaps it is time to play by THEIR rules. These people obviously don't respect or follow Geneva conventions or any other civilised rules of warfare.

Perhaps it's time to visit terror on terrorists. Geghis Khan, the Roman Caesars, Alexander and other ancient rulers knew how to make war. A total anilhilation of the enemy.

Perhaps violence is the only language they understand. They kill women and children and blow up infrastructure. They kidnap people without distinction between soldier, humanitarian, journalist, etc... they encourage kidnapping, hostage killing and blackmail.

Perhaps it's time to totally destroy the Taleban. Their army, their leaders, their supporters, their villages, their donkeys, their chickens and sow the soil with salt.

No one likes such butchery, but if the Taleban butcher and won't play by "civilised" rules of combat, then maybe the world has to think the unthinkable and play by the Taleban's rules and speak the language they understand.

When we went to war with the Japanse during WW2, we didn't play by their rules, because we were better.  Lowering yourself to their level is disgusting.  "They started it" doesn't cut it when peoples lives are at stake.

Well, let me put it this way.  As Musharraf slowly allows more American involvement in fighting the Taliban in his own country, we may end up killing a lot of civilians.

To be quite frank, I don't have a problem with killing civilians that aid terrorists.  Killing people who don't aid the terrorists is what we should avoid though.
