In one corner, you have the neo-cons and their corporate masters who've been in complete control of our government and economic policies for the last 6 years, starting a horrendously expensive war, cronyism from the Bush cartel openly ripping off the taxpayers, ramping up our national debt, relaxing consumer protections that have ramped up consumer debt through different vehicles, encouraging our ever expanding trade deficit to prop up the falling dollar, and failure to secure our borders so cheap labor can keep pouring in while corporations export our middle-income jobs to India or Eastern Europe.  End result, rich got richer, poor got poorer, and this generation (adjusted for inflation) will be the first ever in US history to earn/make less than the previous.

In the other corner, you have the liberal commies who have a host of half-assed wishy washy social programs that seem to deliver only a fraction of the purported services at full cost to the taxpayer as well as half-hearted and lazy opposition to conservative corruption.

Soooo, round 1, FIGHT!

Rampant capitalism. It's a brilliant sting, because it's perpetuated by the many for the benefit of the few, without any effort from those who reap the benefit. And it's not limited to America.

Wow I didn't know you were an American.  How did you get that different flag in your stat page?

Just to answer your question both parties of the government are responsible as are all citizens since we keep voting for a name instead of the actual person.  Big companies that care about the bottom dollar and nothing else don't help any either.

I'm a red-blooded 7th-gen American, 9 years in the US Army with the last 4 stationed in Germany, currently working in Ukraine supervising a Romanian video game production studio owned by a French company for a Bulgarian project.  I've lived and/or worked in 10 countries in the last 7 years since coming to Europe in '99.  I have a large extended family in the States covering the entire spectrum of geography and income brackets that I'm in frequent contact with, as well as a lot of friends from my travels.  It gives me a "unique" perspective to say the least.

But, on the logic of all citizens because they voted...that leads to the question of accountability.  If a particular candidate perpetuates a crime using the position he was voted in for, are the citizens responsible?  Are citizens that voted also liable for dumb policies that they knew they were voting for when they elected a candidate?  Are people in elected positions responsible for policies that put the good of corporations ahead of the citizens they were elected to serve?  So many questions, so few answers...

I agree with apollo - capitalism, more specifically protectionism. The Tariffs keep consumers from getting the cheapest and the subsides for corn and such just waste government money : /

You could also define looting as "the gathering of spoils", such as when you emerge victorious in a videogame and are able to "loot the corpse".  In this case, my vote was with 100% control of our government for 6 years, as spoils of their political victory the neo-cons and their related energy and defense buddies have looted the US treasury and citizen's pockets for 100's of Billions.

The opposition, cowering in fear and on the defensive waiting for the next "talking point attack" (as Lowing brings to our attention every time a new one is rolled out) have done absolutely nothing useful to stop the carnage in the last 7 months.

The independently owned, member controlled, banking cartel - known as the Federal Reserve + Neocon subversive bullshit ideology that creates deficit spending (in the Trillions) that in turn creates government debt (inflating the money supply; reducing value; and burdening every tax dollar taken in thereafter).

$20 Trillion in total US gov. fiscal responsibilities; as of 2000 ($5 Trillion deficit spending running total + $15 trillion in other commitments). A balanced budget (when Clinton left office, deficit spending reduced to near zero), but the Federal Reserve problem (banking cartel) still needed to be addressed.

Increased to (thanks to Bush & Idiot Co.):

$46 trillion in total US gov. fiscal responsibilities; as of 2005 ($8 Trillion deficit spending running total + $38 trillion in other commitments). The National debt on deficit spending could be as high as $10 Trillion with additional fiscal commitments of $40+ Trillion = a probable $50+ Trillion total governemt fiscal commitment, by the time Evil Idiot Bush leaves office.

America is not a democracy. America is only somewhat capitalistic, but it is certainly a plutocracy - with the banking cartel being the controlling member (tis not a conspiracy theory - nor a New World Order - it is an Old world order - and conspiracy fact - not ever mentioned by the media or by most politicians; other than Ron Paul & a few others, as far as I know).

If you don't think, that pressing a button & creating money, after waving your hands in the air and saying something complicated about securities, interests rates, etc - or that being told secretive practices & secret meetings are in "your best interests"; if you don't think (all of) that is looting in the form of legalized debt enslavement - you are a moron. And, I have interest in a bridge to sell you.

(*) Banking cartels should be on the list (as an option).

Boy, for that to stick as soon as the dems take over the white house ( which they will), gas prices would drop back down to 1.35 a gallon and the military would be reduced to a skeleton crew as we piece meal our it to the UN and sell our secrets to our enemies to pay to rebalance the budget.
( the second part a believe )

It is comical that you accuse the right of cowering in fear on the issue of terrorism, given the appeasing, apologizing, negotiating, lets leave them alone and hope they leave us alone, postiton the left has taken on the issue.

By the way, regardless of who is in office, the liberals will continue to rob America, with its already established programs that will never go away. The stealing will only increase as soon as Hilary takes office.

What exactly is "lootification"? I understood the gist of pussification but some enlightenment is required for me on this issue.

Global capitalism in combination with overpopulation leads to the lootification of the world.

We're not only fucking each other over in a figurative sense economically; we're also literally fucking too much in certain countries.

If we could rein in the depredations of multinational corporations while simultaneously promoting contraceptives/birth control to the Third World, the human race would be in much better shape.

Don't hold your breath for that to happen though....

As for the lootification of America more specifically...  corporations have been treading on the rights of individuals while gaining more rights themselves.  In addition to this, wealth disparity is growing.
