Are they supposedly more effective in safemode than in normal windows boot mode? Can someone confirm it?
Yes, cause some virus and spyware has the ability to copy itself and not be disabled, etc when your in normal mode. Safe mode will stop them from running in most cases. Alot of viruses copy themselves when windows boots up too.

I see. thanks. Another thing, if i found a virus with AVG and its kept in the virus vault. If i delete them from the vault, will it be gone from my computer forever?
Yea, it moves things to the vault so that if it is a system file that you need you know not to delete it. You shouldn't have a prob emptying anything thats in your vault though.
If you have more than one virus scanner they often pick up the viruses in each others vault and want to move them into there own.
