i'm not confident with manually overclocking at the moment.
however i was reading the bios section in the user guide (ASUS A8R-MVP) & found that you can change the system performance by using a 'preset overclock' profile.
it progresses in 3, 5, 10, 15, 30% stages.
- is this a non-technical way of improving performance without compromising stability or it it more sophisticated than this (can it still go tits-up in the wrong hands)?
- if i start at 3% & then gradually increase each stage how can i monitor reaching the the optimal setting, is it CPU temperature?
