Okay. I have no idea what's going on..but here's how it'll go.

-Load up BF2, play for a while. wheee!!!1
-Quit then try playing again (note, i don't turn off my computer)
-I see the BF2 splash picture pop up, disappears, and i get a program error popup window.

If i want to play again, I have to restart..which..I hate doing because i'm lazy mostly..but that's not the point.
My friend has an XPS laptop, and he says he gets the same problems too. his XPS is fairly new too. got it only mid-last year.

my rig is an AMD Athlon XP 2200+
1gig of DDR ram
ATI Radeon 9800 AIW

so..i can't really see what's going on. I've defragged, reinstalled, checkdisked, done ATI drivers (which was a PITA) so..yeah..Anyone else having this kind of issue?

edit: forgot to mention i'm on Windows 2K..just..not sure if that's a thing, and my friend's XPS is on Windows XP

happens to me all the time it really pises me off , most  when im gonna play with my friends!!!!!!!!!!

But is it like....a BF2 problem that everyone is experiencing? certain people with certain tech specs? what? is it some kinda..evil..ploy that EA/Dice put in to BF2's programming so it's zOMG hax!

Are you using daemon tools to load up the battlefield 2 cd image? Cause thats what happens to me. What I do is right click on daemon tools on the task bar and go to the cd image and eject tray and then go in there again choose load tray. After this you should be able to load up battlefield 2 without restarting your computer. I have the original bf2 cd but I dont like to keep it in my cd drive. I might just use my cd again if only I could find it.

Never seen that myself, so it's probable a BF2 thing that only happens on certain specs...

zOMG! You're a genius. I am using the original BF2 CD, and turned OFF daemon tools because I always have it running in the background AND IT WORKS!

well..I hope this wasn't just a one time thing either..or else I'm going to be angry.

okay. uh. it starts if i have no emulations options on..so..now i'm going to try 'n find a perfect..combination of..something.

edit: okay..if you disable SafeDisc in the emulation options. it doesn't crash. So i'm hoping that if anyone else is having this problem..that this helps you all.
