Robert Pershing Wadlow was born in Alton in 1918, a normal-size baby, but soon his perky pituitary gland triggered abnormal growth. At the age of 13, already 7 ft. 4 in., he was proclaimed the world's biggest Boy Scout. And he kept getting bigger.... he eventually topped out at 8 ft. 11.1 inches.
That's incredible!! 8 foot 11 inches!
Thats so fucking tall!
Just thought i'de share this dude with you cause you've probly never heard of him.

Apparantly there was some guy whos 7ft 5in but hes like 19 in the UK and some basketball teamwas going to pay him £50,000/$100,000 to stay away from their opposing team as he could easily dunk balls just by walking up and popping it in without jumping.

His last name seems inappropriate? It should be Wadhigh.

Well also you guys got to remember, his tallness was a genetic disorder, not natural growth like a basketball player's. Most people who reached that hight had a hard time supporting themselves so they need wheelchairs. I just watched a thing on Giants & Dwarfs on 20/20 thats what made me research this dude.

yeah, that would suck to be that tall.i think i heard about a more recent guy that was around the same height, and he constantly had to fight knee problems and have surgery.i wouldn't think a life like that would be worth a record.

They don't live that long either my dad told me. Because it takes a long time for the blood to circulate.

what there was a guy who was 7 6 on dallas and he had to jump a little to dunk.. the goal is 10 ft high

that guy couldnt play basketball because he was in pain from being so tall i think he died from his shoes they had nails in them and he got infections. ..i think..

Usually the problem is that their bodies are quite large, but their internal organs are the same size as a normal sized person. This puts an incredible strain on vital organs, especially the heart, which has to work double-time to pump blood through so many long veins.

Shoes were put together with nails for a long time till strong adhesives were available.

@ Chevy that many be true, your arm span is as long as you are tall, so if that brit was 7ft 5 his arms may be close to 3ft, so 7ft 5 + 3ft + shoes = Over 10ft.

But, I went to the Ripleys museum in Ocean City, and they had some pictures of that dude, couldn't he hold like a dozen eggs in one hand??
