Which type are you? Why do you go to the bar? Just to have a good time meeting other people and to have a few drinks, or is the booze the main reason?

Sometimes the drink, sometimes the people. But as a rule I never drink alone if that counts for anything.

I'm Irish and I actually don't drink that much. I like a drink now and again but I don't like headaches in the morning. I agree with usmarine ...clubs suck.
I went for 'Both' btw.

im an asshole.....i get a *bottle* of beer.
once it is getting low, i make my way to the bathroom and refill it with water.
it meets the social minimum, and i stay aware of my surroundings and rational.
at least that is what i do now......the first couple weeks after my wife left......well, lets just say that self-medication knew no moderation.

Drinks and fun?
both definitely...
Both, it has to be!
Both.
You need an excuse to go to the bar? In Ireland going to the bar and getting shitfaced is part of the fabric of our society. Those who don't enjoy a session are almost shunned and looked upon with embarrassment, which is a little bit immature but hey - that's Ireland for you. In Ireland I would say that the vast majority of people go to the bar for social interaction, not because of some dependency on alcohol.
I guess both!
I'm actually never alone in the bar I always go to. It's my fathers, so I know most people who come there. And I work there as well.

Yeah, probably both.
Not allowed a drink in a bar (17 ) so me and my friends get together once a month to drink. Loosens you up, I have to admit.
It's all gd...
