I only supprot multitasc commanders on 16 player servers.
With higher population, it's better if the commander consentrates 100% on the commanding.

These guys could be on UK servers or AMERICAN servers so they would think the commander would be speaking the same language, exactly what i would do.

Agreed, the only time a commander should be doing something other than commanding is when there is a low player count where the addition of a part time player can make all the difference. Additionaly If the control point where the commander is at is under attack, you cant expect him/her to just sit there & die, they need too fight if only briefly & then get back to work.

The question is not whether or not you can command & do something like fly a chopper at the same time, but if you can do either job as well as if you were only doing the one. The answer is of course no, because you are not concentrating 100% on the job at hand, you maybe getting a lot of points but your team are losing theirs because of your negligence & greed.

Really?

I guess I'm a noob then. A noob with stats that most likely blow your shit out of the water.

Pay attention to my win/loss.
Hey, saw your stats and it is impressive. To be really up front with you, I have never seen a great multi-tasking VOIPing-watching-out-for-the-troops commander. In all honesty, I would like to play on your server one day if the ping isn't bad.

Best regards

A thing i usually do while im commander is set c4 at the most important base in the map ( or what i think it is ) so if i see that base neutral i just blow the trigger and cap it back, saves time i think.

I must confess, I TK-ed our US commander a couple of times on Wake Only today after repeated attempts at asking him over VOIP and message to command and not multi-task. It felt good and guilty at the same time, I DO NOT TK (coz of ticket count) but am sick and tired of multi-tasking commanders.
so your having a cry that the commander is doing the job at under %100, so you tk him making the his input %0.....mmmmm that doesnt sound to smart to me.
I know what you mean, it wasn't smart... but I just had enough of non-100% commanders. I feel that 100% average commanders are better than 70% commanders. Of course that is only my opinion, I have yet to see GREAT multi-tasking VOIPing (giving orders, suggesting flanking positions) commanders. As I have mentioned earlier, it's more than Sat scans and UAV, it's monitoring and countering enemy movements, that alone is already hard to do at 100%.

There's a book I am reading now 'We were Soldiers Once... and Young'. It's a great read on how each platoon, company and commanding works in fierce firefights, if any of you guys are serious in commanding even after you've gotten your badges and medals, I suggest reading up on military books, it's REALLY REALLY interesting how close BF2 is to actual warfare, not the best game but close enough. I was in the army as an enlisted soldier for a few years, and learnt the importance of command and control.

I am guessing that at 64man tournament levels, where you have clans with cohesive teams battling it out, the commander will be the most important guy coz of the intel factor, otherwise the sqds will be fighting blind. He will have the power to really order squads to counter enemy movements and everything else.

I went on a tking spree all day today . Most fun Ive ever had playing this game to be honest . My highest negative score was -412 !!! Ahhhhhhhhhhh so much fun indeed . I was on a server with no punish too . I lasted several games . I would get on one team and TK untill they had one flag left . Then I would switch over to the other team and TK till they had one flag left . I did this back and forth for about 2 hours . It was fun .

What pisses me off is when you feel you're the only guy on your team actually doing anything. Take this for example, I'm sure this has happened to everyone here in one shape or another...

You look on your minimap and that tank, apcs, heli's and jets are still there waiting for occupants...

You think, "Ok well maybe this team doesn't want use vehicles" then you make a squad and notice you're the only squad... "OK well maybe they like being lone wolf" but then you suddenly notice there isn't a commander either. Well things aren't looking too bright, you go commander and start dropping arty on the enemies the UAV's and scans are useless because your team won't come off the carrier.

So you decide, hell I'll take some flags and using the UAVs and Scans you manage to take a few flags hoping your team-mates will follow suit... Only to notice you're the only one who hasn't continued to spawn on the carrier and you're all alone on the island, coming up to your third flag all of a sudden 5 enemies pop out to kill you in a bid to stop you. You waste them and take the flag and move onto the next one. Your team then begins to complain about "spawnkilling" and "Whoring" the other team then reminds them they have at least one flag on the island, spawn there... You begin to get sick of this BS because you're the only one doing a fucking thing and then out of the blue you see this message

"Stupid Twat who has no brain has started a mutiny against you"

By this time point you don't even begin to ask why, you've already told the stupid cunts to spawn on the island or at the other flags and to take the excess vehicles but no one has even bothered to listen to you, some may have flamed you.

Then you decide enough is enough and you make one final check on the scores to notice the other team is completely raping the fools on the carrier and nothing you can do will stop it. You're the only player on your team with a positive K/D ratio... It's time to disconnect.

only time i multi task while being commander is if i have idiots on my team who will not go for flags, but instead go for kills and more than likely deaths.  If i actually have a good team i am playing with, then i will sit back and command only to give my full attention to helping my team win.  I hate commanders that are in jets or attack choppers because they cannot command to the best of their ability and take up a plane that someone better could use

I'll admit to this, if the team I am commanding are serious campers and potential score ends up with more than 50 tickets difference, I will switch teams. Not proud of this but I admit it. Early signs to watch are sniper dudes who are near the enemy flag but refuse to cap. Next is having 3 or 4 sqds defending a flag and obeying commands to cap the other flags, sooner or later they will get over run by the enemy. I have lost as commander with 10 tix difference but those rounds were great, our team capped flags, fought like real soldiers but the other team was better, that I'll gladly lose to.

Btw, I have also to begged guys to get off the carrier in Wake as US commander, generally no one listens. Everyone loves the blackhawk ride, long queues on it.
