Hey there, just recently whenever I play bf2, the voices such as Enemy Spotted! or Roger that are gradually going into a choppy/slow motion kind of sound. It sounds something like Roger t..h..a..t or Ene..m..y s..p..o..t..t..e..d. This is extremely irritating and would love to know how to fix this, it used to work, but now it doesn't!

Thanks.

try to delete your whole bf2 folder located in your my documents but make a backup of your controls.con file if you want to keep your control setup
and make a copy of your screen shots if you want to keep those too

either that or re-installing the game will usually fix problems with it

Run dxdiag (start -> run -> type "dxdiag") and go to the sound tab, drop Hardware Sound Acceleration Level down to "Basic Acceleration"

You don't have EAX/Hardware turned on with onboard sound do you?

Patch again, if not then reinstall. This happened to me before, it'd come and go until I reinstalled BF2. Remember the order

BF2>Special Forces>1.41>Euro Forces>1.41>Armored Fury>1.41

Ok, reinstalled BF2. No luck. However, the voices stay normal if I switch to Software audio. But that also cuts off my surround sound, so therefore it is hardware problem possibly, I will now try mummbles method.

are you using Vista and a Creative card?

because i am having a similar problem. i use Vista 32 and a creative sb external. it was working fine, i was playing alot of PR, but i uninstalled it, took a few weeks away, and now my sound does what yours does. i dont think its the PR mod, i think its the latest drivers from creative.

what really sucks is that i had the previous drivers archived but deleted them yesterday before i started playing again. i have this problem in Civ4 as well.

screw it, i think im gonna go back to XP.

Ok, putting basic acceleration on is just turning off my back 2 speakers which I don't want. Any other solutions?

Same exact problem here as well. Back 2 speakers turn off with software
Hardware works but voices skip in the same manner.
