Hey, I was told in a previous thread that I must enable basic acceleration for my speakers so that the voices ingame do not go slow or choppy. Now I've done that, my surround sound doesnt work, instead I just have a subwoofer, center, front left and front right speakers. The back left and right now don't work. If I turn my acceleration up, I get the surround back, but I get slow and choppy voice command things such as Roger that. I've re-installed bf2 and that doesn't work, this is basically down to my hardware, how do I fix this?
what kinda sound card u have?
A Creative SB Audigy LS
is ur onboard sound enabled on ur motherboarD?
What version of Windows are you running? Have you gotten the most recent drivers for it?
Running Windows XP. Also, how do I find that out Raven?
restart ur PC, and enter the bios by hitting delete when the POST screen appears.
go to integrated peripherals and it should be there. this is a "generic" way, it could
be different on other PC's

Should I disable it if I find it is enabled?
yes
Ok I disabled some kind of audio in the BIOS on Periphials. Now what must I do?
try and see if bf2 runs properly now with the desired sound u want.
though...i heard EAX/ hardware acceleration is not supported by the sound
card you have.

Aight already tried it, that don't work.
Also, it is an old card, and I nicked this surround sound off my dad's PC, which has the sound card that works properly with it. Maybe I'll have to exchange the cards aswell. Isn't there a way to just disable the voice sounds ingame?

Meh, thanks for your help, guess there's nothing else to do.
You might try updating your drivers as I suggested before.

or you could just go into the device manager and disable it.
But yeah, drivers are important your other ones may have become fuxed

Yeah, disabling it in the BIOS can probably cause more problems than simply disabling it in the device manager.
I did update drivers, re-installed game, disabled in BIOS. Now, my card IS EAX compatible, so there must be a way to get this working.
