. . . is one of the slogans supporting China's one child law which are now banned because they are insensitive.  The National Population and Family Planning Commission said it was striking insensitive slogans promoting the policy in order to dispel the impression the government was "simply forcing people to give up having more babies, causing misunderstanding (of) the policy and even tarnishing the image of the government."

Among the slogans that were forbidden were "One more baby means one more tomb" and "Houses toppled, cows confiscated, if abortion demand rejected." Such slogans are often found painted on roadside buildings in rural areas.

Ummm, the Chinese government IS demolishing homes and seizing assets of those who don't follow the one child law.  Rather difficult to "misunderstand" that.

Surprised there's no parents that have an opinion on this one.  I can't imagine having the government telling me how many kids I can have.

The Chinese people cant have their own opinion. Its a communist country, you have an opinion that the government doesnt like, you die.

Well the answer is population restriction. But people don't like that. Some people think they have a right to make as many babies as they want. So your options are population restriction or overcrowding and famine.

Now, killing babies ethically isn't a good option. Prevention of conception is the desired route. Heavy penalties for more than 2 children and even heavier penalties for infanticide.

Perhaps, mass sterilization and nerve stapling are the solution. just kidding...

Still, this is China we're talking about.  They just have too many people.  India does too, but they just can't keep from pumping out kids over there.  Come to think of it, since so much of the world is still living in poverty, most of the world can't keep from having too many kids, which is what helps to keep them poor in the first place.

I personally agree with the policy, and so do everyone in my family. Its not "evil communist policies" at play here, but simple population control.

excess ppl + limited land = starving population

Just look at India, with so-called freedom-based polices, and their population is already over 1 billion with territory a third of the size of PRC. Certainly China doesn't want and can't afford to go down the same doomed path.
