How to attach bag clips?

Hello... this is a very weird post i know... but im wanting to know how to attach the clip that is on the back of bags like this:

how do i attach it to the rope/tie/strap/other part thingey?

1. pull it through the bottom of the slot all the way on the right.
2. pull it down through the top of the slot directly to the left of that.
3. look cool as hell with your sweet bag.

That's backwards, the strap won't stay tight if you put it through that way.

Well i do that, and it works, but it un-slackens itself once weight is placed on. (Pc carry case straps these are)

You do that and then roll up the end just enough so that it is too big to slip through, then melt the end with a lighter so it stays. (Assuming it is nylon or regular rope, not hemp or something like that).

Ah, right yeah, luckly my case is so big it will be fine on the full length, but the stopper things look like they might pull through... ill melt the ends, cheers.
