According to this source, http://ifg-clan.de/news/index.php?action=show&id=27

a new patch will be coming.

The whole article was written in german so I will sum up the main things in english:

A Team from "BATTLEFIELD2-NEWS.DE" visited DICE. They asked Lars Gustavsson (Creative Director) and Sean Decker (Executive Producer) if there will be new patch coming out.

- Will there be a new patch?

Answer - Yes, there is one already in production.

They say that the costs for the new patch are extremely high so it would take a lot of time but eventually a new patch IS comin

If this has been posted before or isnt true (proof), plz delete it.

Nice but will they finally fix the damn F35's hitbox? And most importantly to me will they finally change the Level 2 unlocks and give us a semi auto sniper rifle instead of the L96?(I heard rumors) Which can be used in SF aswell.(Ok this was more gossip but still it's juicy gossip!)

Question: Will there a ranking system for mod-running servers?
Answer: We have the will to start with it, but yet its not possible to have ranked mod servers. Problems are the bad support and high costs

Question: Will there be a new booster pack? (Addon)
Answer: Nope

Patches and nose-fixed are extremely complex and expensive. However the next to last BF2 Patch version 1.4 cost approximately $300,000. The reason for the enormous costs is mainly at the complex tests of the software and different conditions and on the most different systems.
