Does this happen to anyone else (specifically non-Australians ).
What I mean is best explained in an example:
Today, on the way to school listening to the radio. The breakfast radio people are debating over whether Australian Idol (the singing thing, and no I don't watch it) is unnecessarily harsh/rude to the audition's.
eg. When someone is absolutely pathetic, the judges throw in a few "your ugly", "no fashion sense" etc as well as the obligatory "your really bad".
Then when they open it up to the public to call in, the first answer (word for word) is this:
(The question was along the lines of "Do the judges need to be so harsh?")
"Well some of them are bloody crap at singing. They knew what they were in for."
Some people may call that swearing, but on public radio this morning, it wasn't even blinked at. That made me think - does this happen in other countries?
And then I thought up this topic - so share your countries dirty secrets/funny happenings!
