While I'm sure driving in a NASCAR race is by no means easy, the fact of the matter is that most people really do watch NASCAR for the crashing, whereas people mostly watch F1 and WRC for the driving.

If that isn't telling of the skill involved compared to other forms of racing, or at least the skill displayed, I don't know what is.

Formula 1 takes an insane amount of skill comapred to NASCAR. Making passes in F1 isnt as easy as driving around someone. Need critical timing on turns to get inside before he does and then overtake him. If you are trying to not get passed it takes skill as well to try to prevent any sort of inside move on the turn and not make tiny mistakes because they will cost you your position.

NASCAR takes more skill than F1 what I have seen. In F1 you only drive past ONE or maybe 2 guys and then you are pretty free for 30+ minutes before you see the next guy.

In NASCAR you got 50+ people around you that all can do something like trying to get past you. And if you don't keep an eye on those you are screwed along with most other right behind but sometimes they are able to awoid such crashes.

Also F1 is only like normal driving most of the time unless you have someone infront of you.

Just think of it like this. You are on a road with 200+ other people who are desperate to get to the first place and everyone will take chances if they find one. They are also driving like 1-2 meters away from you. You also drive in 200+ kmh.

Easier said than done for sure. Also I hardly think a Drag racer would be better than a NASCAR at F1 because a drag racer only drives in a straight lane and that hardly requier any skill at all. It's only to have the most powerfull dragracer there is and that's it. Then put a big foot on the gas pedal.
You don't need to worry about changing gear as you only need an auto one.

I love NASCAR.  Thick Crowds of Cars > F1.
One suggestion though:  At the end of the race, the winner thanks all his sponsors, even though they didn't directly help him win the race.  I think that during the race, the driver should be forced to use a product of his sponsor to some advantage.  This would be good for the US Army car, and a few others, while rather unfortunate for the Jack Daniel's Car and the Viagra car.

You must not know to much about drag racing. Nor the speeds in F1 as compared to normal driving/NASCAR. They all take different skill SETS. The pace of nascar is a lot slower the in f1. In NASCAR every car is shooting for a consistent line that is relatively one consistent speed. In F1 that line is jagged, constant speed changes. Braking, downshifting, navigating multiple turns at extremely high speeds are all seen in F1 far more often then in any of them.
