OK I'm really confused. What is the most recent patch for BF2? Is it 1.4 or 1.41? On the EA site it says the 1.4 one is the most recent.

OK, so is the 1.41 patch a full install or an incremental?
Take the full install if you haven't got 1.4 installed. Otherways Incremental.
The idea of any hi-fi system is to reproduce the source material as faithfully as possible, and to deliberately add distortion to everything you hear (due to amplifier deficiencies) because it sounds 'nice' is simply not high fidelity. There is no incremental to upgrade to 1.41 to my knowledge. Lots of people didn't like it, seeing as downloading the huge thing again is real pain for people with slow internetz.
