Has Ranking Score changed since stat feed went down???

I have around 25,000 points as First Sergeant, and Sergeant Major is/was 50,000, around 50% of the score required to rank up.

BF2S hasn't updated for a while as we all know and my BF2S stat page still shows just under 50% to next rank in the progress bar at the bottom, that's cool as it's still got 24,375 points as my score until it updates.

I know the stat feed is down on teh.sig.com also, probably as they come from same place.

So I was thinking why does my sig say 15% of score required to next rank up and not nearly 50% as in BF2S stat page.

So I just checked the in game BFHQ stats and its updating ok, I now have 25,251 points but the progress bar on the page to next rank shows around 15%, as my sig does.

Have they changed ranking score?
Is that why people got the 2 unlocks, myself included??
Anybody else notice a drop in their progress bar, maybe Master Seargeant and First Sergeant are only affected???

The discrepancy here stems from the way that bf2s.com calculates the progress bar, versus the way that your sig is calculating the progress bar. Bf2s.com takes your total and divides it by the score needed for your next rank, so if you have 25,000 then you are a First/Master Sergeant and are half way to 50,000 which is the rank for Sergeant Major. Your sig appears to be calculating based on how many points you have above the required number of points for your current rank (which bfhq does as well.) So, you have a global score of 25,251, 5,251 points above the requirement for First Sergeant and 20,000 points away from your next rank. Divide 5,000 into 25,000 and you get 20% (your sig is showing a global of 24,375, so 4,000 into 25,000 and you get 16%, rather close to your sig's progress meter.)

Right I'm confused, I'm pretty sure(not 100%) that my progress bar did show around 50% on my sig.

If 20,000 is the requirement for First/Master Sergeant, then I have 4,375 points above the requirement.
Going to completely disregard my actual score of 25,251(BFHQ) as neither the sig or BF2S stat page shows it, they are both on 24,375 as you can see.

so

4,375/20,000 = 21.875%
or
4,375/25625 = 17.07% (25625 being the score I need)
or
24,375/50000 = 48.75% (exactly what BF2S shows as you said)

Neither of which are correct rounded up or down and although I haven't done the math before I'm sure the program is pretty accurate at adding up, computers are good at that.

Then there's .ACB|_Cutthroat1 the first, First Seargent I found with a sig

He has 32,874 on his sig or 12,874 over First Sgt requirement and his sig shows 43%

12,874/20000 = 64.37%
or
12,874/17126 = 75.2% (he needs 17126 to 50,000)

That's even further off his progress bar that shows 43%
His sig updated after BF2S stopped as BF2S shows 32,147

If I've still messed it up please feel free to correct me, I would appreciate if you could put in your working so I can see it better, Thanks

No, I'm sorry if I confused you. Let me try and simplify this a bit.

There are two seperate methods for calculating progress going on here.

The first takes your current Global Score, let's use a nice round number like 30,000, and then divides that into the Global Score required for the rank in question, let's stick with 50,000 for the Sergeant Major rank. This is how bf2s.com is calculating your progress bar.

30000/50000 = .6 = 60%

The second method resets your progress bar at each rank by breaking up the rank divisions into the difference between the respective global score for the two ranks. For example, First/Master Sergeant requires a Global Score of 20,000 and the next tier is Sergeant Major which is at 50,000. The difference between these two is 30,000 points. So if your current global score is 30,000 then you have 10,000 points more than the previous rank requirement. BFHQ then takes that 10,000 and divides it into the 30,000 required for your next rank.

10000/30000 = .3333333333 = 33%

This is where the deviation is coming from.

Personally I prefer the bf2s.com method since I feel it more accurately reflects your total progress towards a given rank, but you are more than welcome to disagree.

4,375/30000 = 14.58%
and ABC's
12,874/30000 = 42.91%

Spot on mate, cheers
I like the BF2S one best too although they both gonna get to 100% at the same time
