is it me or are these things frickin retarted? i get killed a bunch by a missile hitting me as i do a turn into the sky and like 90 degrees, yet when i try this, i miss completely, does anyone have some pointers how to use the missiles?
ya theyre nuts, my advice would be to switch to bomb mode and egt right up his tail, then use the missiles. Usually works for me.
in bombing mode you don't set off is missile detection alarm...
I have the same problem, do both ways.... but every now and then i do get the kill. I dont get what is with it.
Missiles are useless unless you want to TK. More often than not, my missiles hit a friendly jet and kill it, missing the enemy helicopter that is barely moving.
If they're turning, lead him a bit with the missles, they can't turn very tight. Also, don't wait for a solid lock tone, just shoot.. they usually will hit him with atleast one, and he'll have about half health or lower, so then gun him down.

I have found that when I get on a planes six in bomb mode and switch to air to air missiles, the person in front of me just keeps flying straight like noting is happening... I allways thought they where noobish.
If this glitch exists then that would explains some of the strange ways I got killed in a plane lately.
I am going to test this out tonight.
I hate dogfighting near freindly transport choppers, the missles tend to like TK's more than kills. I second what CrazeD said about leading...it seems to help a little bit.
i have the bombs out, and i catch up to them, when i get really close, shoot them with the guns for a couple seconds and they are pretty much fucked.
If you fly like I do, good luck getting me with guns. I'm constantly looking behind me to make sure nobody is there, and if there is, I put them threw some weird moves and I usually get away, but they usually wouldn't be able to take me down with guns, maybe wound though.Kamikaze17 wrote:

I used to play flight sims, so I got some pretty good defensive maneuvers. It's all about doing weird loops, then turning hard so they can't find you once their loop is done, usually works for me but sometimes they still get me.
If I'm chasing someone, I don't shoot at all until they line up for a bombing run, cause then they're totally straight and I switch to missles, fire them all as quickly as I can, even before it locks, then I hold my lock on, then switch back to bombs and gun them down if they're still alive. Works nearly every time.

In bomb mode u fly around with bombs active - not missiles active - so theres no missiles to start locking onto heat sources.
So obviously yur flying around on the tail of a plane in bomb mode, u can start gunning him down, while he least expects it, or u can switch to missiles quickly close up.
But most good pilots will use rear view alot to double check theres no bomb only pilots on their tail. Youll probably notice this when yur following - learning his moves while in bomb move and he starts pulling evasion manouvers.

By my knowledge it should not be possible to kill another plane with 1 machinegun salvo.

well, my own experience with the Main gun of the jets is that i fly higher then him then when i,m close enought i take an down angel and shoot before him so i hit his cockpit...if u hit the cockpit with the main gun u have a high chance to kill the pilot, and that can take 1 machine gun salvo.ResDog1 wrote:
