My grandfather was a Frogman in the landing of Japan, now known as the Navy SEALS. Although he mostly did underwater demolition of mines and suicide mini subs, he still had an M1 Carbine, a knife and a pistol. Since he was also one of the very first Americans to land on Japan's mainland so he got some pretty awesome memorabilia, however that is not what I am inheriting.
After we figure out all of the messed up Massachusetts gun laws, I am going to get his M1 Carbine, some cruddy Japanese rifle, and possibly his pistol if we can find it.
What I need to know is how to keep these old guns in good shape, and to figure out what the hell the Japanese rifle is. However I have to teach my grandma how to attach pictures to emails before I can show you guys any...
I'd like to honor him by taking good care of his memorabilia, and by following his footsteps by joining the Navy SEALS myself.
