Why did you guys all pick carrots.... I don't get it. How is a carrot the first thing that comes to so many peoples minds when they think vegetable? I get that it's one of the most common vegetables, but there's like cucumber/lettuce/broccoli/sweetcorn/onions which are all just as common. Weird how so many people chose carrots, specifically.

In 1893 , the Supreme Court ruled that the tomato must be considered a vegetable, even though, botanically, it is a fruit. Because vegetables and fruits were subject to different import duties, it was necessary to define it as one or the other. So, tomatoes were declared to be a vegetable given that it was commonly eaten as one. (Source: The Packer, 6/9/90)
That doesn't change the fact that it really is a fruit.

I picked 7 cause it is my favourite number and I always pick it.

And then celery cause I couldn't think of any other vegetable.

That apparently there is a link between the 2% of the world population with warped minds and those that visit this forum, since more than 2% of the people on this forum represent those with warped minds.
