I wouldn't trust any service that their technical department talks with an Indian Accent... O wait that's everybody.

1) A download limit of 40GB is ridiculous. I use that in 4 days easily. 40GB/month = 1.3 gigs a day which is nothing
2) 2 Years? hell that is long
3) the laptop is crap
Only if you like talking to indian people who don't know very much.{HMS}_Sir_Del_Boy wrote:
True, and the other BIG issue is that I'd be tied down for TWO bloody years - and A LOT can happen during that time! I think I need to find out wot my usage has been over the past few months before making any decision. Apparently one's ISP can provide such info.I'm Jamesey wrote:
My brother's on AOL, and he's plagued by the 40gb a month limit, if you go over the limit for a few months and then stay under the limit, they tend to just cut your bandwidth anyways, and it's a 4 or 5 day battle to get your regular speeds back.
Only go with it if you don't plan to download a lot.
BTW, is AOL's (UK) technical/customer service/support any good???
Then I guess it comes down to personal experience. The one time I needed it, the customer support was excellent. But like I say the service is so reliable you should never need it.jord wrote:

AOL in the UK is awesome.

Would you kindly care to elaborate why and how they'll screw me over. And is AOL's service the same in the UK as it is over where you are?{M5}Sniper3 wrote:
Do NOT go with AOL. They will screw you over!
How the fuck did you get an 8meg connection with unlimited downloads deal for less than 10 quid a month?!? The best BT is offering me for something similar is £19.99 - and I've been with them for years!KILLSWITCH wrote:

Yeah, I agree. This was a while ago, with dial-up, but man, AOL was a bitch.{M5}Sniper3 wrote:
Well, my experience with them (in the US) was terrible. Random drop-outs, some days the internet wouldn't work at all, and their customer support sucked. That just about sums it up.

Is it only that 1 laptop that will be on the internet?
I've used 30gig in the last 3 weeks, on 1 laptop- we have 5 PC's in the house, so i dread to think what our usage is each month.
my laptop is on pretty much 24/7- Radio 1 is streaming from 4pm to 10pm, IRC is on 24/7, browsing the web for 3 hours a day.
Would be intresting to see my self.
Cool, thanks!Titch2349 wrote:

We had previously been with them for several years and when I phoned up and told them that we were changing our ISP, they offered us the contract that I just described. Try it.{HMS}_Sir_Del_Boy wrote:

I was just going to start posting profanities for lack of response
Edit: there seem to be over ninethousand programs called "Bandwidth Monitor" when googling.
Could you give a link?
