Finnish army didn't have semi-auto rifles in wide use at that time. And Häyhä used iron sights, because snipers are often discovered because of a blink from the lens.

He hit 542 men sniperwise. Imagine all those he didn't hit? He can't have an accuracy at 100%. All that ammo... I'm not that familiar with finnish/russian rifles, but IF it had a clip, it can't have been more than 5 shots pr clip. That's a lot of ammo... Must be heavy.
5 per clip, and the magazine is non-detachable. Rounds are added kinda like in M1 Garand.
