A question to you Woztralians:
Is Kevin Rudd related to the eminent & legendary Phil Rudd?

Anybody is better than Nelson.shoopysean wrote:
Yeah. Abbott's out. So it's Turnbull or that other guy or Brendan Nelson. Lesser of two evils? Abbott by a mile.Spark wrote:
I like Turnbull. Smart, has a brain. Seems to be a fairly charismatic speaker.
Queensland Labor state governments may be good. But NSW Labor is the biggest pile of shit I have ever seen. They've been in power for decades, yet they still can't run an even half decent transport system, yet continue to increase fairs with no increase in services or reliability. They agreed to be fucked over with GST funds redistribution. The police force is totally incompetent and corrupt and more concerned with revenue raising then crime prevention. They're moving shipping from Sydney harbour to Newcastle and Wollongong which will increase truck usage by more then 400% and consequently massively increase pollution and traffic congestion. The new desalination plant is the biggest waste of money, and they lied about it being run by 'green power'. And I'm sure there's much more I just can't think of it atm. Labor has done nothing but fuck up since it came to power, its always the short term fix to make the people happy, but solves nothing and usually causes bigger problems in the future.KuSTaV wrote:
FUCK LABOR YA FAGGOTS (except for state, state labor owns).
The best thing for the environment would be Nuclear power, and the shutting down of all the coal power stations. So you should have voted Liberal. The Kyoto protocol is a fancy piece of political jargon to con the populous into thinking they are doing something for the environment, it solves nothing at all. The kyoto protocol allows China and India to increase their pollution output by the total pollution output of Australia every 2 weeks. Also the agreement is to reduce increases in pollution, not total pollution output. It goes no where near close enough to what is needed so there is no need to sign especially when we are doing more then what the protocol requires already.BN wrote:
OK, what I should have said is "i dont like it when one party has control over both houses"Flecco wrote:
BN, nobody holds shit in the Senate yet. Not until next July anyway.
Meh, wont change much in our country really.
I dont think things will change too much. I would like to see more done with the environment. Thats why i voted Labor
What possible benefits do you see in doing that? There are none. The queen and UK in general have no political, economic or social influence in Australia, so by doing the above will achieve nothing but cost a whole lot of money. It's absolutely pointless to spend billions upon billions of dollars to 'beautify' the country, because that's all it will achieve, and only for the part of the countries population anyway.TheAussieReaper wrote:
Now we can get on with changing the flag to

Change the national anthem to Waltzing Matilda.
And be rid of the Queen's face on our money.
Well, that was my point. Why then do you keep the union jack on our flag?DrunkFace wrote:

WINRAR. I didn't know that was his name. I don't think so though, nobody related to AC/DC could be so geeky.apollo_fi wrote:

Poe. Apart from being a staunchly loyal Ally to the USA Howard did a lot of good to our economy.CameronPoe wrote:
Congratulations Australia. I'm proud of you. Good riddance to John Howard, may he rot away on the board of one of Rupert Murdoch's media corporations.
4 cunts down (Blair, Howard, Belusconi, Aznar), one to go (Bush).

His mistakes have been in the following areas:
1) Certain parts of the work choices reforms were needless.
2) Apparently loyalty to our allies isn't valued in Australia anymore, as seen by the popular reaction to Iraq.
3) Indigenous policy didn't go down too well among the more politically correct sections of society.
4) I gets a gud edumakashun unda Howerd's fedural guvenorement.
5) Extreme failure to control the housing markets boom. Real estate markets are going to crash once the Baby Boomers start dying off in earnest though.
6) He got 'old', 'complacent' and 'stale'.
A lot of people voted for Rudd's Labor Party on the premise he wasn't Howard. A lot more people voted for Rudd and forgot that you vote for a party, not a Prime-Minister. Unless Rudd can keep Labor's factionalist politics in check, Australia's economy is gonna get raaaped. Hard.
