Just out of curiosity:

I guess I'm guilty of sniping / spawn camping but is there a distance limitation? I'm what you would call a gutless coward that just got my K/D ratio above 1 so I try not to get killed. I prefer to snipe from 75-100 meters out. I find it hard to catagorize that as spawn camping.

Nah, an APC with a 20 mm cannon at a range of 15 meters is spawn camping.

I love going out of the main areas of the map and comming across a lone sniper. I actually sit there and wait for a minute then i decide to just knife him...  I suppose the guy was swaring on his end after that.

But I'll take your example. When I am a sniper I won't sit at spawns and disrupt people's advance. I'll jump around and ask them to parley. Then at the parley we will detirmine a suitable "no man's land" that is of equal advantage to both of us. We shall respect the lines and encampments of the other, for to do otherwise is dishonorable. Then we shall advance upon the agreed upon field of battle at the same time so as not to accord oneself any special advantage. Then upon reaching the center we shall engage in honorable combat to detirmine which among us is truly the better man.
Modern day tactics, instead of 'pistols at dawn' are used to SAVE lives in the real world. Your tactics are to just add cheap kills to your stats, cause you cant attack and hold off enemies while capping a flag. There is a difference.

And at 42%, ill take your sniper rifle with my knife...at any spawn point.

1. Have you tried using sniper rifles IN a spawn point. Snipers will get raped. Especially if they're using bolt action. You may say they have a pistol. But people spawn at spawn points, and you DO have to reload the things.

2. The point of snipers is to pick off people in a weak position. You can call it pussy or whatever all you want. But it's their job. I dare you to play as sniper and play it like assault or Special Ops. You just don't do it. Snipers aren't given weapons for close range.

3. I've tried being sniper before. You have to be pretty good to aim those things >_>

of course i did write an elaborate guide which defines a style of sniping called "combat sniping" about how the sniper should engage in flag capping and assaulting, my use of which would account for my stats. Which by the way, you can blow me again if you don't think are impressive. My experience with the rifle puts me in the top 1000 of all snipers.

you find a lot of snipers who assault with their rifle and maintain a positive ratio?

ohh or maybe i not only suck, but suck so much that i can't even sit outside of a spawn point and snipe effectively.

I bet some forum users will reply to this with a baseless character attack!

Dude that is so funny.   I like doing that also.  It is pretty funny to watch them sit there then even sometimes drop arty on them.
