I dont want to spend to much money. I spent 400 Bucks on the AM2 5200+ when it came out from newegg. So now that my current cpu is about 120 bucks i feel a little sick, but at the time it just came out and was and still is a beast.

Was thinking of buying a AM2 X2 6400+ myself + an 8800GT 512 MB Extreme. but..why would you want to ´´upgrade´´ an 5200 to and 5000+, thats downgrading
in L2 yes, going from 2Mb to 512Sucks, but beauce the 5000+ black edition is unlocked I could hit 3.0 with it OCing.
I'd wait a little... and save up money but that's often my advice Why? Because well, going to little cache sucks, the BE 6400+ is just a heat producing outdated 90nm crappy OC'd thing (imo), and I'd just go either for a C2D motherboard with a Wolfdale, and wait with the vid cards, I mean they're still holding all games perfectly, and there is no need for directx10 tbh.. (although i have it ) or wait till AM3 comes out or the benchies of the Phenom's and then decide for an AMD mobo.

ok i think i will save the money. I did just buy a new laptop with a 8600 geforce and with a intel core 2 duo 2.0ghz so i guess this will by me sometime. altho i have always been one to upgrade my stuff alot, at one time i was upgrading every month for about a year, went from the 754 clawhammer pin to a 939 to an am2 with in about 15months, which meant all new shit....which im at the point now, i dont want to waste any more money. So I will wait.

It will take a while for all the kinks to get ironed out with the Phenoms. They're having loads of trouble with the BIOS updates for AM2 boards, so I would suggest waiting for AM3.

I've gone to 3.1 on my brisbane 4800+.
Every Brisbane is unlocked, hints why you pulled that speed off.
