I see it as a great fun and it did increase my infantry skills dramaticly.
So people how come you don't like IO servers?
Here's what I found out about IO servers:
• People who plays it whines less
• People don't spawnrape with tank and doesn't die by artillary each 5th minute
• It increase their KDR and skills using weapons instead of whoring vehicles?
and
What do you think people miss by using their time in IO servers?
IO is a lame n00b nade fest. Revive, revive, revive. IO is stupid, boring, requires no skill, makes you think you are a good player, while in fact you suck. Hard.
That's it.
I recall seeing you spawn rape the hotel in a tank or APC at karkand a few times....
You are awesome dude!!!!

I guess you never experienced real teamplaying when playing IO. If you have a squad with 4, 5 or 6 members who actually communicate and play toghether and a good commander it's very fun to play.S.Lythberg wrote:
In vehicle mode, squads must work together and use some actual tactics to bring down helicopters and tanks, people who cant work together go to IO servers.
But I do agree that clays and nades can ruin good IO servers. That's why I cheer everytime I enter a map who don't allow snipers/clays/C4 on flag. This only work if there are admins who pays attention.
I have nothing against vehicle maps either. I play what my urges need. If I wanna blow shit up I usually play vehicles. Ih I wanna knife somebody I'll play IO.
Like 'em both.
Just jump the corners. I have even seen people walk over my clays and didn't detonate them. (No, it wasn't FF off and my teammate...)Locoloki wrote:

When you land you'll be near the clay, take out your wrench and disable it.
Easy as that!
Interesting assessment. So, if you thump a tank a lot or bomb a carrier 20 times a game, that makes you a "uber" player? Well, I guess I am a sucktacular player because I like I/O. Go me.Nikola Bathory wrote:

Like all servers there are good i/o and bad i/o - if u join a server full of people claymore and nade spamming - leave.
Everyone likes to go on about this just being a game - well the purpose of a game is to enjoy it - if you like I/O stick with it if not go vehicles.
I personally much prefer I/O as everyone is on a level field (barring cheats) unlike vehicles where the few have a distinct advantage over the majority.
At the end of the day it is a simple matter of " whatever rocks your radiator "
anyone who says anything different (I/O is for noobs / It's an easy option etc.) is trying to inflict their opinions on you.

Hmmm, thats odd. Are you close enough the the clays when you try to disable them?your supposed to be able to disable the clays with the wrench, but i have never been able to do it , not even from behind,
Give it a shot sometime, you might suprise yourself. M11 is one hit kill at close range, and the DAO/Jackhammer obliterate anything unfortunate enough to be in front of it. Also, the AT rocket is good for IO, as a direct rocket hit will instantly kill an enemy (as opposed to critically wounding them), so they can't be revived by any of the dozen medics running around.the shotgun is nice for cqc obviously what it is designed for, but im not going to go running around with a shotgun with nade spamming clay whores around everycorner.
Spec-ops is the only kit equipped for destroying assets. The wrench is only used for repairing them. Also, you are supposed to be able to disable the enemy uav, radar, and artillery with the wrench, but i cant do that either
I noticed two points I'd like to expound on:
1. Jalabad as I/O is a frigging joke. USMC never has a ghost of a chance. They need to at least allow cars, but not armor. You can't get past the MEC wall of defense if MEC has even a half-dozen decent players, so if you're USMC in a server that doesn't switch sides or auto-level, you are assured of several losses in a row.
That map needs to have cars but no armor, or be done away with as I/O.
2. The helos on Sharqi are WAY too dominant. It doesn't matter where you are, where you spawn, or what class you are, if you get two guys in a helo who know what the hell they are doing, they will own Sharqi and there's nothing anyone can do about it.

When the game first came out you were supposed to be able to sabotage it with the wrench, which makes sense and would be awesome if you could. Give any engineer a wrench and its a hell of a lot easier to take something apart than it is to fix it!Sup3r_Dr4gon wrote:

I have no idea why they nerfed it, it was in the guide book written by the testers (which is crap anyways, but helped a little when the game first came out)
little tips like that, and placing AT mines inside of jeeps, does that work? i tried it once i dont remember if it worked or not

like i said before, two humvees will tear a heli to shreds in no time. sustained fire from one 50 cal will take out almost 3/4 of the heli armor before the gun overheats, imagine what two 50 cals will do. not only that, but the AA sites can track and hit the heli way beyond visual range. i like to think that i "know what the hell i'm doing" in the heli, and i still get taken down by smart teams. teamwork will always the greatest weapon in the game, but if you choose to spawn on top of tv station over and over again, than you deserve getting owned.Dersmikner wrote:

They are not. It just takes two or three dedicated players on the other side. One or two to fly the other chopper and engage the enemy one, and a guy on the ground to shoot at it every so often. If someone goes in for a low pass, you can easily hit them with an AT rocket or a burst of automatic fire.Dersmikner wrote:

And god help them if they try capping flags with a hummer nearby. A competent gunner can take them out in seconds before they get a chance to seat-switch and TV-missile you.
And the rockets don't work well on anything.
Could have just called him a douchnozzle and that would have also been the correct answer.killer21 wrote:

Simple Threat analysis. IO consists of infantry and mounted LMGs.Sup3r_Dr4gon wrote:
Why do people call IO easy mode?
Normal servers consist of infantry and mounted LMGs (the same as IO), PLUS transports, APCs, Tanks, helicopters, planes, AA and artillery. It doesn't take a genius to see how IO is 'easy' mode.
Most advocates of IO argue spawn raping Karkand in a tank is easier then IO, this is both wrong and unrealistic. In the case of Karkand there are only 6 people who get an armoured vehicle leaving 58 to fight on foot or in transports. That means 90% of the time you will be playing infantry just with more threats making it harder then IO, while only 10% of the time you can argue that it 'may' be easier. But when in a tank you (should) get targeted by the enemy, making it in some ways more challenging then infantry, where everyone is relatively equal, so no one is particular is targeted.
Even on the most 'vehicle heavy' maps such as Kubra, OCS, Fushee, Daqing and shongua more then 60% of people are still restricted to use nothing better then a transports. Which means in every map the majority of people will be playing as infantry just with many many more threats, and those that do get a vehicle are specifically targeted.
If those same people played on normal servers instead of IO, they would be doing even worse.Look at the scoreboard the next time your on an IO map. It may be easy mode for you, but I bet that theres more then one person of there whos being raped, whos KDR is less then one, who can't get more then 20 points in a game. Not everyone can get a KDR of 4+. For every person who is going really well, theres going to be a person of there who is doing really shit.
Totally false, there's lots that anyone can do about it. As been explained already, get in a transport, shoot them with AT rockets or use the AA. Maybe you don't kill them, maybe you die in the process, but doing nothing is even worse. Damaging the chopper so it needs to go repair will give your team a good 40-50 seconds where its can't rape you, continue to send it back for repairs every time it comes close and you've neutralised their biggest asset. But I suppose that's the main difference between a good players and a whore. A good player will try and kill the enemies greatest threat, while a whore will try and kill/do what's easiest.Dersmikner wrote:

hmmm, how about this situationDrunkFace wrote:

when im playing sharqi, ill have a timer going so i know the exact respawn time of the enemy helicopter, and ill make sure it never leaves the pad again. i am a good player in the sense i remove the greatest threat (the attack heli) but also a whore since TV'ing the enemy helipad the entire game is easy and will get a lot of kills with minimal risk.
not always so easy to separate the two

Btw, last night I got banned from an IO server for baserape, hahahahhahaa
>>>BF3 Central<<<
Simple threat analysis? That doesn't make it easier. It's true that in vehicle servers you don't always know whats coming - whether it is a bomber or arty - but that doesn't make it that much harder. Just because I know that there are six people closing on my position doesn't mean that it's any easier to beat them.DrunkFace wrote:

And as for the baseraping, your forgetting something: it's far easier to kill a soldier then a tank. If a tank is camping your spawn, you're fucked. Plain and simple. Even if you spawn AT, you're still going to need time to take out the AT rocket, aim and fire it - time that any half-brained tank driver won't give you. And jumping won't help, not if your enemy has a freaking cannon aimed at you.
Compare this with IO - jump, do a 180 mid air, then nail the bastard. Sure, he may still kill you, but you have a far better chance of surviving.
spawn somewhere elseSup3r_Dr4gon wrote:

Yes, we know that. This isn't about "what to do if spawn camped", it's "vehicle spawncamping is worse then IO spawncamping".steelie34 wrote:
