Nice, I've only ever shot with a pistol (don't know which one, wasn't exactly legal, don't ask don't tell), It was surprisingly easy to handle and use though - I'd imagine it wouldn't be that hard hitting clay pigeons with a shotgun though, unless you were using solid slugs and not that shell which spreads out.

Nah at clay shooting you use spread ammo not solid rounds, I expected way more recoil on a shotgun tbh it wasn't that bad at all, but they said it'd be some bit higher with solid rounds.
The only thing irritating was that the gun was actually quite heavy.

most likely a 12 or 20 gauge. what we use skeet shooting. friend of ours has two skeet throwers an a pallet of like 2000 clays (well was 2000).

Haha nice, ive used a 8&12 bore, both one barrel on-top of the other. After a good few hundred shells, your shoulder really really starts to hurt!

I grew up with clay pigeon shooting at the boarding school I went to. I'm impressed though..pretty good for your first go!!!

I shoot skeet,trap, and five-stand at our gun club every week and go through hundreds of shells a day (practicing for the 4H National Championship in spring ) . I use a 12 ga. 11-87 auto and i never come home with a bruised shoulder, for all you who are, your prob. holding the gun wrong.

If you are getting a sore shoulder (while firing less than a couple hundred shells), you are might be holding your shotgun too high or too low. The first time I shot clays, I had the stock too high. It wound up hitting my collar bone upon firing. My shoulder was really sore the next day. I moved the stock down and never had that problem again.
I used to shoot a bit. Kangaroos, feral animals, hawks that were after my Dad's racing pidgeons. That sort of thing. Never shot clays.
Was gay though, because when I was a midget it was rare that I got to use a real gun unless I was shooting animals for him, for the most part he had me using the slug gun when I was shooting bottles/tins etc.
