On some Little Birds you get "skids" for passengers, (See Armoured Fury and PRMM) and I was wondering is there anything to keep you in place, like a seatbelt, or are the skids made of grip material? The same goes for Blackhawks, as you see guys just sitting on the edge as the helo takes flight.

I have heard that the momentum of the chopper keeps u with in and that when they are carrying people on the sides the pilots don't make excessive manuvers

I never really figure it out, but when I watched that movie Blawk Hawk Down during the invasion sequence. When the Delta boys get off the Littlebird you can see some kind of a strap that flings off the bench

Yes they do have safety straps. If not then it would be raining men.  *breaks out in song and dance*

Yes, they have seatbelts. Otherwise nobody would ride on them, and they wouldn't get insurance.

Little bird has seatbelts,,, so does blackhawks but guys sitting on the edge of blackhawks loading bay have a rope attached to the floor of the blackhawk to keep them from falling whilst still beeing able to move around on the edge... (afaik)

Remember in BHD when the first BH gets hit, the guys almost flung out, but i think he either has a really good grip, or he's tethered in somehow.

Was watching that last night oddly enough, sounds nice on my system

Here's my question: Go for a flight in a plane, like a 747. Get into the aisle, and jump up. Notice how you don't fly backwards as the plane keeps moving. Does this mean you are moving, technically, at 500MPH (because you're moving with the same momentum or wuteva as the plane)?

I liked the part in BHD where Orlando Bloom fought gravity.

And lost.

Hard.

Yes, that's about it in a nutshell.   Sitting still in a vehicle, you have got the same velocity (speed vector) as the object you're traveling in.  Technically your momentum is different though.  Momentum is a product of your velocity and your mass, obviously different for you and the vehicle.
