I think Putin was actually elected fair and square, although I really doubt that the true % was that high. Maybe they only rigged the reporting rather than the election, because 99.4% is pretty hard to believe in any election.

It sounds odd to those of us in the West, but Putin is actually very popular in most of Russia. Granted, that also shows you how desperate Russians are right now and how poorly educated they are about their own government.

Yeah, the election results are surprising, real surprising.

Given what Putin did to the other parties, various protests and the media before the election.
