I was thinkin about getting another gig of ram. Currently i have 3 512's. Someone told me its not good to have a 1 gig stick running with 512's.
Is this true?

I don't know much at all about RAM, but I currently have 2 x 512 and a 1 gig stick and everything works fine. There may be latency issues and the RAM isn't as fast as it can possibly be, but I've had this setup for a few years now and I haven't had any problems.

get another 512, if you're running in dual channel then you'll screw everything up if you put in a 1 gb stick.

make sure to get same manufacturer too

^ That's true. I think the only reason mine is working fine is because my motherboard has 2 slots that are dual channel, and then another slot by itself...

Sell the 3 512:s on ebay, replace with 2 identical 1Gb sticks.

Odds are that if you get a 512 in addition to your set, it won't be Dual Channel compatible with the other 3.
I need around tree fiddy.

Get 2x1GB sticks.
I would imagine that 2X1GB sticks would run better than 1x1GB and 3X512. And besides 2GB kits of two 1GB sticks are getting cheaper.
