i got a logitech wingman extreme 3d pro...but ive had it for a while and as many other users have complaines the rudder sensors have given out and the rudder doesnt work too well..so its either joystick and a and d keys for rudder or key/mouse. i must say i like the mouse better...but u need a joystick for the best realism!
Yeah Yeah Yeah that's what I'm talkin' about!BeefnCheez wrote:

May I ask, if you got a joystick, isnt it harder to seat switch then, im just stickin to my keyboard and mouse, mx1000, fly's like a charm, sensi on 10, makes some co pilots shit their pants when nosing straight to the ground
Logitech Wingman Attack 2; it's alright, but if you have more money than I did, go higher.
sidewinder FTW!
I know fucking karate
No, I use the Hat Button..Up for second seat back for Pilot.elmo1337 wrote:

Logitech freedom 2.4 cordless......Sometimes its a bummer when I forget to "wake it up"...
actually, My entire desktop is covered in logitech stuff. g15 keyboard, mx700, freedom 2.4, POS $2 logitech optical for workstation.
i Cant fly with the joystick, though. i Tried it a couple times and crashed more than i did when i did back in dc when i learned to fly. i Can fly jets alright with it, tho.
keyboard All the way.
Saitek x52 - it definitely takes a while to learn how to fly a chopper again but when you finally learn its rewarding. I use a joystick to fly both jets and choppers.
I cant fly the heli for shit with the joystick. I find that the joystick is way too bounded in the x and y direction even at various sensitivity settings. So I have to over compensate real early and like hell in order to not crash etc.
So I stick with the mouse and all is fine for me.
edit: you can also switch seats and use the tvm's whilst using the mouse. Another plus.

I pretty much just gun. I can fly the choppers ok though. Just never pilot for some reason. I should maybe practice flying.
i also have an Saitek X52 works great in both chopper and jets:)
I use an Old Sidewinder FF2 which is almost as old as:
It still works pretty good!

How do u guide missles when u have a joystick? Mouse and keyboard is better.
You can only use the joystick while flying, guided missles uses mouse and only from the gunners seat!JaMDuDe wrote:

The last time I checked, flying a helicopter did not involve guiding missiles.JaMDuDe wrote:

But it is so 1337 being able to switch seats while flying and then use the tvm. Its like James Bond, except he'd probably have a beautifull broad in the cockpit whilst shooting down baddies and tossing Dr. No into a giant chimmney.Skruples wrote:

MX1000 4TW! Got one too and my flying is just fine because of it. I have no desire to switch to joystick.elmo1337 wrote:

Mouse and Keyboard is the only right thing
I seem to suck at piloting helis with a joystick, I always over do it and end up upside down only 10ft above the ground.
mouse keyboard ftw...put heli speed ingame at like 9.1 ;O
Keyboard + high sensivity mouse ownz
In all my time in the skys, ive never seen someone pull the same critical moves as someone that uses a mouse/key. Joystick was ok for standard helicopter flying, but when you wanna style it up a lil and impress your gunner (or just fuck the enemy off) then its mouse/key all the way.
