You guys did such a great job solving my other problem, I'm hoping you're willing to take a crack at this one.

My G5 worked fine until I upgraded from XP Home to XP Pro.  Since the upgrade, my system will not install run this mouse.  At startup, my system recgonizes the mouse is connected, and correctly identifies it as a Labtech G5, but I get a message saying there is a problem installing the new hardware and that "an error occurred during the installation of the device."

The mouse works fine on my laptop, so the problem must be some conflict with XP Pro.  I removed and re-installed the Logtech Setpoint software, but this didn't solve the problem.

Pleeeze, any thoughts?

As stated, I reinstalled the Setpoint software.  Any other ideas?

Make sure your USB ports are working correctly, IE: No bigass yellow exclamation marks next to them in device manager.

The problem is not with the USB port, unfortunately.
