Dog breeding is a good example, genetics in general.
(ie natural fur color,camouflage for different sub species of animals who've adapted for their environment)

Speciation occurs when one species acquired such differing traits where they are considered a differing species from the initial species. The way i see it, You cant breed a pug into a wolf, the traits that made the species what it originally was have been bred out of it, and the only way to possibly get it back into a wolf is genetic manipulation.
