Basically, you blow a bunch of money and buy people things, eat food, and in a week, it's all over. I like the gift and food part, but other than that, it's kinda stupid. I know people celebrate the birth of Jesus, but really, who does? They are too interested in their gifts, their food, and their alcohol

The waste is in celebrating the birth of Jesus. Fuck Jesus, I want my gifts and food!
"people in ny have a general idea of how to drive. one of the pedals goes forward the other one prevents you from dying"
Well no, not just that. People spend a month decorating and buying gifts and food, all to put it away in a few days anyways. Why don't we just buy the gifts and eat a bunch and be done with it, instead of making it a big deal.CommieChipmunk wrote:

Yes. I'm an atheist, I can't afford to buy people crap they won't look at twice, and I just don't feel like it.
Hush up, Scrooge!
Well, religion aside, I loved Christmas when I was a Roman Catholic, and now as an atheist. It's just a good time of year, you know?

the increased spending boosts the nation's economy. What we need now is for people to spend, BUT NOT TO MAX OUT CREDIT CARDS AND/OR GO INTO DEBT YOU IDIOTS!!!!
What???
A waste?
Absolutly not. Its tradition across the world!
Yes, you spend a lot of money, but its neccesary, its not like your gunna stop celebrating Christmas in the next 1000 years...
Even Fry celebrated 'xmas' in the year 3000 as he got shot down by the Santa bot.

I'm jewish (not really...more of a non-practicing jew) and I love Christmas time. Just seems like the best time of year. So no, it's not a waste.
I hate you. You get prezzies like 8 days in a row.Poseidon wrote:
