Good Night guys,

Well it has been a very long time since I have logged onto Battlefield, I see all my info on Bf2s has been wiped, like my "signature" but oh well, just about 10 minuets ago I played Bf2 on my new laptop, and every thing went just great, but.... My wireless mouse does not seem to want to switch guns through the mouse wheel, any help would be nice thanks!

And make sure 'next' and 'previous' weapon keys are actually bound to the mousewheel in the options.

I don't think one way is better than the other.  I use the number keys myself, but I know plenty of people who get along just fine with the mousewheel.  He probably has been using that most of the time, so it is easier.

I figure you've already done this, but have you checked the in-game controls?  Make sure they're set right.

Mousewheel is superior if you like having everything at your fingertips like I do. Number keys are quicker, though, which is why I'm binding my main weapon key to be handy.

Yea I have tried using the number keys but I am not quick enough with my right hand, I have been used the mouse wheel for three years now, and the wireless mouse comes with the compture in a package, so the mouse works fine, like to scroll in windows explore it performs great, but when I play bf2, the game does not seem to reconize the mouse, I have tried the settings in the game controls.

Get a real mouse, then. I discarded the default wireless POS for a wired gaming mouse.

Using mouse wheel is lame and slow, use number keys, you'll never get better, i know how i play, i need to use my number keys, outta ammo in clip, i need my knife or pistol now, not in 3 or 5 seconds...

lame and slow... ok, it takes me split second to switch weapon with mousewheel, not 3 or 5 seconds. I never used number keys for weapon switch coz i always press wrong button I even have my prone key on my mouse, and that is pure gold! my mouse is G5

Meh, I prefer the Mouse wheel, by now I'm ale to switch fairly accurately between weapons pretty quick, only peve I have is being in the middle of a huge firefight and losing track of what weapon I'm on.
