Someone's leaching my internet...

I have a linksys wireless router connected to my computer, an ethernet cable running to my other computer/ps3/xbox 360 in this room and then a my computer downstairs is picking up the wireless internet...

However today I've realized that there is another unknown party stealing my interwebs.. how do I block them and put a password so only the computer downstairs can access my wireless router?

You can hop on your router admin and block their IP address.
http://192.168.1.1/
or
http://192.168.0.1/

I think that'll work.

Edit: jsnipy's idea is better, MAC addresses can't be changed. I don't know how to do it though, sorry. SSID broadcast should be turned off, and you should change your SSID just to make sure. Think of something they won't think (maybe "stopstealingmyinternet").

Yes but in most cases its just some average Joe gone "Aww sweet! Free Internet!"

Follow haffeysucks' link. You may not be able to unless you're connected via Ethernet.

You should then get sommat like this:

my SSID is "buttsecks" its awesome

Oh and for security on my router i have mac address filtering, non-broadcast SSID, WPA2 encryption and i have to manually asign the device i want to join a IP.

No one will be steeling my internets (unless they just plug them selfs into my router or switch )

change the default ip on the router, even with a hidden ssid if you dont change the ip they still can connect. change it to like 192.168.1.125 or something.

second, encrypt the connects with WPA or WPA2..WEP is junk.

third, change the subnet. If you dont know how to subnet there are calculators you can download to help. If you know how many things you have connected to your router pulling dhcp then you can close off the rest of the dhcp pool, this way even if by magic they learn your ip, your WPA/WPA2, SSID, then they will be stuck with limited or no connectivity pulling a 169.x.x.x address which is none routable.

forth, change the default user name and password, if you leave the Linksys, Linksys this will get you into trouble.

so to recap change default IP, Add WPA/WPA2, Hide SSID, Change User name & Password, Subnet off your DHCP pool. Mac & IP filtering is kinda pointless, you can change both. so you would be battling them still.
