I'm getting and iPod Touch for Xmas, so I was wondering if I plugged in my iPod to my computer, would all my songs on my iTunes library go onto it automatically?

Stupid question, but it should work, right?

Not automatically you have to sync it.

If you are a first time user then it will be a little challenge it should not be hard.

I know I had a hard time with it but that was just me.

And yes to answer your question it should work.

Yeah, so I can plug it in and press sync, and they should all be transferred.
I have an iPod Nano, so I am familiar with syncing and all that stuff.

If it doesn't automatically transfer the songs, you could always go into the iPod options and set the automatic manage songs option to manual and drag songs into your iPod..

I have a bunch of songs on my iPod that I don't have anymore on my computer, so I can't drag and drop them.
I'm pretty sure though that when I plug it in, it will sync it and add the songs from my library.

Although it is kinda weird how I can only add 4 songs at a time to my iPod. When I try and add 5 songs at once, none of them go on.

I get the same problems...but i think the solution is to simply open your folder that holds all the mp3s and simply drag and drop into iTunes, it should take all the songs.

From what I know, if your iTunes has all the songs already loaded into its memory, leaving Manage Music Manually unchecked should allow iTunes to place all of your songs into the iPod Touch (If there is enough room).

*edit*
After seeing your second post, if you have deleted the songs from iTunes, the next sync will delete them from the iPod as well. You can copy all the songs on your iPod (not touch or iPhone) by enabling hidden folders in view and going to <iPod Drive>:/iPod Control/Music/
There will be several folders named F0# and those have every song in them.
Copy that into a folder on your drive and add them to itunes. Consolidate them and they will be renamed from things such as XLZO to the actual song name.
The iPod touch and iPhone don't allow disk mode however so you can't use this trick with them.
