whenever i go to watch anything online that uses the Divx  web player the browser crashes without warning or error message, i've tried using both firefox and opera and both do this, i've reinstalled the divx package and made sure its allowed by my firewall, its incredibly annoying as i watch most of my tv via the internet.

help would be much appreciated.

divx player has issues with firefox. AFAIK there is no fix. IE should work nicely though
once upon a midnight dreary, while i pron surfed, weak and weary, over many a strange and spurious site of ' hot  xxx galore'. While i clicked my fav'rite bookmark, suddenly there came a warning, and my heart was filled with mourning, mourning for my dear amour, " 'Tis not possible!", i muttered, " give me back my free hardcore!"..... quoth the server, 404.

I can't run divx with my nVidia 6200 ... basically locks up my computer, and I've been too lazy to find an nVidia driver version that will work.

However, I can switch over to my onboard Intel video, and divx works fine (even with Firefox)

Well i'll try reinstalling my video drivers then, shouldn't need to but i'll try it anyway.

If it works then thanks to all involved, if it doesn't then thanks anyway for trying.

I decided to google a little to see if I could see a solution (at least) to the problems I'm having.  Consider some of the pointers in this thread

One suggestion was to change codecs ... the OP actually corrected the problem by updating his VIA MB drivers (wonder if I have VIA ... have to open the case I guess).

hmm that might work, personally though i'd prefer to go somewhere along the lines of putting one of these in the case and running.

Especially as i generally spend alot of my time watching tv online on divx sites.
