To join a game directly without having to load all of the BS (similar to BF1942).

In BF1942 you could just do something like Start->Run->bf2.exe 127.0.0.1:1234

you can remove the intro videos from teh videos folder in programs > BF2 and they wont play anymore.

He's talking about opening through a shortcut menu or command target line. I don't think it's possible, or else you'd be able to join through xfire.

and alternative is to add some code to the command line on the shortcut, but I'm going to the toilet now for a shit.... so.... someone else can find it lol

if you're talking about just no BS, add this to command line " +menu 1 +fullscreen 1 +restart" <-- without speech marks obv

thats what im talking about... adding a command line argument after bf2.exe to just jump right into a game. not go through all the bs

I think in BF1942 it was as simple as BF1942.EXE (IP):(PORT)

but that doesnt work for Bf2, i think theres probably some parameters that need to be in place.

I don't know how to join directly to a server, but I do know how to cut down on a lot of the BS.
First, delete the intro videos, like other people have said (or even just rename them or move them somewhere else).
Second, you can change code in your shortcut so that it'll automatically log you in. Just add:
+playerName MattyBoy714 +playerPassword noneofyourbusiness

(I'm 90% sure those are the codes, but I can't check because I temporarily uninstalled BF2; if playerPassword doesn't work, try just +password). !!! IMPORTANT !!! It's case sensitive! So make sure you capitalize N in playerName and P of playerPassword, and the same goes with your username and password.

It's nice just to hit the shortcut and have the game be ready for you instead of having to watch the dumb videos or clicking login every time you want to play.
