Hacker turns up in bf2cc

Hello,

We had a hacker tonight on the eu bf2 server putting massive cartillery on the airfield on wake. After i banned a player called Dr.Noodle the cartillery stopped so i can say without a doubt that i got the right guy.

Check out what i found in the bf2cc logs. This is a screenshot of the chat log.

How the hell does a hacker turn up in the chat log but not in server chat ingame? Has anyone seen anything like it before in bf2cc?

Hummm pretty odd indeed. first time i see that. Well as many hacker have been caught in the past time...and still get caught on a daily basis (Yeah PB now do their work....well...not 100% of what they should but oh well, they try.)

I guess that this is just a new way, you know when a old way to hack get busted, you have to find another one...i guess this is just something new...again....As long as they cant mess around in your bf2cc....a quick !b will do the job.

Yea its from the chat log before he got banned. At first i thought he was spamming chat so i went ingame and there was massive cartillery over the airport. He was doing something that wasnt visible ingame in server chat but it turned up in the chat log.

The commander typically announces his drops, but the hack hides it in game...It cant completely hide it in the logs though it only blanks out the line.

You can see though each time he makes a drop it displays is name as saying something in the log file so if some one is using commander hacks the admin can just check to see who keeps spamming blank lines in chat.

I was in a server with a hacker, and when people began to complain, he said stfu or I crash bf2. People kept talking, and he spammed the chat and it crashed the server and my bf2 game.

Perhaps he was in squad by himself and spammed squad chat? Or is squad chat specified in BF2cc?

Yea it must be something like that but these automated messages like: 'first aid here!' and 'vehicle drop in your sector!' dont turn up in cc chatlogs. It just records what players type in chat and the automessages.

Also when you press j, k or l and press enter without typing anything, that will not leave a blank line the chat log. To get a blank line of text in chat, he has to type a space and then press enter. I just tested it and its the only way to get a blank line in the chat log.

Maybe he fucked up his key bindings for his hack or summit.

Text Bomb Hack, normally crashes the server.

Interesting so its coding to get spaces in server chat and cars from the sky like one big macro trying to crash a server. To bad it didnt work cause i banned his ass.

he was using 187 hax. He was spamming blanks which is an option.
