Did anyone else go? I took a pleasant five hour drive up there to see them live at the House of Blues. They were touring with three other bands but decapitated could not come because of the whole accident thing. So, that just left sonic syndicate and Himsa.

Preshow - Well everyone walked into the House of blues to the lower floor where the concert was being held. All bands were selling t-shirts and hoodies, CD, DVDs, and everything else. I, unfortunately, was to poor to afford anything good . However after about five minutes in another line for meeting Amon Amarth, they arrived and were ready to sign autographs and meet their fans. Meeting Amon Amarth was pure win. They all were extremely nice and loved chatting with their fans. By far the coolest one was Johan Söderberg, the lead guitarist. I asked him about some things such as his guitar playing and stuff and he was glad to answer any questions. After a little while they left and went back stage to get ready for the show.

Sonic Syndicate - No one knew exactly who these guys were but within 2 minutes of them playing we all realised that they sucked. Not only did they suck but they acted like most emo bands do - not a good thing in a room full of metal heads.  The lead guitarist was hopping around like a bunny while the two, yes two, vocalist just continued the suckage. After there first song i counted about eighty middle fingers and a lot more "fuck you" and "you suck"s. After four songs full of bad crowd reactions they finally left the stage.

Himsa- While setting up people were waving and saying hi to the band, apparently they had some fans so they couldn't be that bad. What really set the mood is when the lead singe, while setting up, sang chocolate rain in its entirety. So after that they were finally set up and we got on with the show. I knew that Himsa was a metalcore band so i thought they were gonna be bad, but not on the level of Sonic Syndicate. I was surprised that they didn't suck but were actually ok. They got parts of the crowd going and finished off nicely.

Amon Amarth- We had to wait for what seemed like an eternity for these guys but it was well worth it. They came out blazing with "Valhalla Awaits Me" and then went on with "Death in Fire". After that they went on in full force with "Asator" and many other good songs from With Odin on Our Side and Versus the World. To finish off their act they played "Fate of Norns". After they went back to backstage the crowd yelled out "One more song! One more song!" So they came back out and played three more songs! They started off with "Victorious March" and ended with one of my personal favorites "Pursuit of the Vikings".

All in All it was a fucking amazing concert.

Amon Amarth, they're a viking-themed metal band. Quite good if you're into dressing up as a level43 Grand Magus, and running around the woods with your friends in roleplaying costume.

Just kidding, they're pretty good.
