I don't particularly like them. But I did like American Idiot awhile ago. Isn't all this genre the same? Isn't all mainstream music the same?

I saw Rage Top 50 for the first time in ages the other day. Virtually every song was some shitty singer, singing in dragged out notes about boring shit, whilst playing a guitar with some drums in the background.

My local radio station was doing this SICK!!!! Led Zeppelin A-Z where they went through all their songs A-Z...my god that was so sweet.

Then Greenday came on on another station and that just pissed me off beyond compare.

I respect them for what they are.

Green Day suck. Their early stuff was passable, but now they're just crap. OMGANTIBUSH is not a political stance for music. It is not social commentary. It is just suck.

Also, they ain't punk by a long shot. They wish they were punk, but punk is DEAD. They're merely dancing in it's open grave.
The whole nu-punk thing just dragged the rotten corpse out, stuck a plaid shirt and piercings on, and stuck it in the armchair in the corner with an air freshener.

I used to love them back in their older days. Now they have sobered up and sold out. Note that they aren't emo. They are punk rock. Though they suck now because they sold out to fit the new punk/emo image. The days when all they wore were shitty t-shirts and old jeans were their best days. Their sound was really genuine and unique in their time. There's nothing like having someone grab an acoustic guitar and sit in a circle with friends and sing "Good Riddance".
