Is there anyone who has a kill with tactical equipment i.e flash and smoke grenade? Is it even possible?
yes it is possible http://forums.bf2s.com/viewtopic.php?id=83833
I've seen smoke nade kills, but never preformed one. Not so sure about the flashbang kills.
cool thanks lolSgtSlauther wrote:

Couldn't that just be a localization file edit thing?
I've done it:
This was before I even knew what localization files were. I just chucked the grenade over the iron fence and got a surprise kill.
EDIT: Wholy crap, I just realized that DMoT is making a kill in that screenshot... I feel ashamed I played in the same server as him.

why do your stats say that you don't have any tactical equipment kills?Havok wrote:

I've killed a guy with a grappling hook once, but my stats don't show the kill. But I got the screeny, but I didn't see the guy die!
It's not possible to kill someone with the grappling hook or zip line. But there is a bug that will show you a in game that you did. There are various way the bug works but the most common is you lay claymores, AT mines and are then are killed. After you spawn, if you are in a vehicle, on a zip line or grappling hook and the mines gets you a kill it is register in game (only) as the item you are using at that moment.Cyrax-Sektor wrote:

Flashbangs, Smoke nades, (eve ordinary nades) on the other hand can get you kills by throwing (firing) them at someone (usually the head) at close range when they are on bugger all health. The impact will do a tiny amount of damage (less then 1 bar) so against a healthy opponent they will never know they took damage but can be enough to kill someone. I don't know if these kills will show up in stats or not, but I'm pretty sure there is no stats feed for them so again they are an in game thing only.

I saw a guy who died from zip lines 26 times. Might've been Black Jesus. Dunno.DrunkFace wrote:

What you say makes sense, and I've seen it. Today on RR, I was having fun in the truck and laid some mines earlier. Then I got a kill with the M1A2 tank. Perhaps an enemy drove their M1A2, bailed as it was rolling over my mine and died.

Honestly, I don't know. I swear to you that image is unedited, along with my localization files (well, they're edited now, but at the time they weren't). I don't think Chuy expected anybody to kill anybody with tactical equipment so he doesn't mess with the feed for it.RandomSchl wrote:

The 26 deaths with zipline just means he/she died 26 times while riding a zipline.Cyrax-Sektor wrote:

Oh. How?
AFAIK, there is no stats feed for kills with tactical equipment.
This hasn't got anything to do with BF2s I guess, because I haven't seen on any other stats page so far.
Only zipline deaths have one, but that only is the number of times you died while holding the crossbow.
As said before, you can get many wierd kill messages in-game (see ladder kill), but that doesn't necessarily mean that this was the real cause.
