k, Internet lags heavily every 67-69 seconds. I made a thread yesterday about getting a new router/internet card, but I was told that this was a known Vista problem. Apparently, it is "Windows Wireless Zero Configuration" that searches for new (and better) networks every 60 seconds.

So far, I have tried:

this:
To disable the WLAN Autoconfig you can follow these steps:

- Click on Start, type in "cmd" without the quotes, then right-click on cmd.exe which appears in your search.

- Select run as administrator.

- The WLAN service must be running first. If it isn't type net start wlansvc.

- Type in netsh wlan set autoconfig enabled=no interface="name of your wireless network here" (with the quotes)

- If you need to see the name of your wireless network first, type in netsh wlan show settings

That will disable the WLAN Autoconfig

Ideas/Help?

Thanks.

Yep I've had this problem too. Currently Vista Anti-Lag fixed it for me: http://www.codecase.de/index.php/download-val
but I wouldn't hold out on it. I found this discussion on the Vista support forums: http://windowshelp.microsoft.com/commun … ng_sharing
But the only solution is to try and see if you can get a client and driver for your card or to uninstall the cards current driver and install one for XP. If you need anymore help just let me know. I've done this with mine but I have to properly test it yet.

I've just tested it and its still a bit laggy in BF2 but I don't get the connection problem thing popping up though.

Wireless Zero Configuration can be disabled no?

I know it could be on XP, becuase the netgear app I installed disabled it, and I had a real, real hard time enabling it again.

You see the problem is that its now called WLAN Auto Config now but disabling it means your wireless is gone but in XP you could you a third party wireless manager that would run the wireless itself. At the moment there is no client out yet for Vista to do this hence the problem thats a real pain in the ass to solve.

SP1 better have a fix for this, or I'm going back to XP.
